Are you looking for a good scary book this Halloween season? Well, if you haven’t found anything here, try Williamsburg Regional Library’s Blogging for a Good Book.
All this week, Barry is posting about some true classics in the horror genre. His choices are impeccable — soooo impeccable that he posted about Something Wicked This Way Comes which I was going to write about tomorrow. So obviously the man has taste — and when I see him again he’ll have bruises on his shins for stealing my book.
- In the meantime, why don’t you stop over and read about such important books as:
- Count Magnus and Other Ghost Stories, by M. R. James
- The Dunwich Horror and Others, by H. P. Lovecraft
- Something Wicked This Way Comes, by Ray Bradbury
- Coraline, by Neil Gaiman
- Count Karlstein, by Philip Pullman
Meanwhile, I have to go find another book to read for tomorrow . . . dang it.

Sorry about that Greg!
Barry
Looks like there are some great books in this list.
Hey Barry,
I was just kidding about the bruises . . . you know that don’t you? You guys do a great job at BFGB and if you just happen to write a summary of a book I was planning to summarize — and do it better than I could . . . well it’s no hard feelings.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to sob over here in the corner . . .
Hello Serena,
They do an excellent job at Blogging for a Good Book. Each week a staff member publishes five posts of the books he or she has read or the movies they’ve seen. Some read almost exculsively non-fiction, someone else does mostly movies, a few of them write about a wide range of fiction. If you visit their website, let me know what you think of it.
