This month’s Book Cover Spotlight reveals the cover for John Everson’s newest horror book from Leisure called Siren and by golly it is a whopper!

Just look at that siren’s eyes . . . there is total malevolence there. And the use of the blues highlighted by a rolling fog that looks like it could choke the life out of a man . . . or woman.

Now some people with prurient minds may think I picked this cover because our feisty siren is slithering along the rocks buck naked. Those those small minded people, let me say “fie on thee.”

Sure, she’s a hottie. She’s a siren and besides her hypnotic song, she ought to be a bit of a looker if she’s to lure sane men to their deaths. But her nakedness is all part and parcel of her deadliness and must be considered in the same light one views a man-eating tiger’s claws or a recluse spider’s venom: deadly, deadly, deadly.

Of course, some may argue that if I really felt that way, I could have just posted the 180×290 image and successfully made my points. A 500×806 says nothing except what a great big perv I am.

Huh, okay. You caught me.

Siren by John Everson is coming out this July, published by Leisure Books. You can’t order it now — unless you join the Leisure Horror Book Club which is a great way to make sure you get your copy. Otherwise you can watch this website for links to order this and other great new horror novels when they become available or subscribe to John’s newsletter for further developments.
