William Shakespeare once wrote that all the world is a stage, and all the men and women in the world are merely players upon that stage, each with their own entrances and exits.

But while this may be true, you’ve never seen an exit like Tommy O’Brien’s . . .

Since it’s initial publication, Brian Keene’s Terminal has been hailed by critics as “this generations The Girl Next Door“, “emotionally brutal”, “gritty yet sublime”, “a seminal work in the Brian Keene canon”, and “a bleak, grim reality play”.

Now that reality play is indeed a reality. Brian Keene and the esteemed, award-winning playwright Roy C. Booth have teamed up for a stage adaptation of Terminal that will appeal to both old and new fans alike.

If you’ve read the novel and think you know the story of Tommy, Sherm, Benji, and the rest, think again. While faithful to the novel, Terminal: The Play delivers more twists and turns and adds new layers of depth to Tommy’s struggle to survive — and its ultimate aftermath.

The streets of the city are no longer safe. They are filled with zombies—the living dead, rotting predators driven only by a need to kill . . . and eat. Some of the living have struggled to survive, but with each passing day their odds grow worse. For Lamar Reed and a handful of others, their safe haven is an old Coast Guard ship out at sea, with plenty of water separating them from the grasping hands and tearing teeth of the dead. These desperate survivors are completely isolated, cut off from the dangers of the mainland. But their haven will soon become a deathtrap, and they’ll learn that isolation can also mean no escape!

A Note From the Undead Rat:
This book is not part of The Rising series. The zombies aren’t the fast moving, intelligent of the Siqqusim but the slower moving zombies more in line with tradition — well, mostly. Of course it wouldn’t be a Brian Keene story without at least one twist. Trust me, I made the same mistake until I read Mr. Keene’s blog entry which set me straight. Of course now I have to go out and get a copy so I can find out what he’s done to my precious undead cousins this time.

What are Siqqusim? Sorry, you have to check out The Rising to find out.

The first wave was only the beginning . . .

Since it’s publication in 1999, Clickers by J.F. Gonzalez and Mark Williams has become a geunine cult-classic, garnering a legion of fans and single-handedly revitalizing the “munch-out” sub-genre. Like Jaws did a decade before, Clickers gave readers another reason not to go in the water.

But now, it’s not even safe on land.

Delirium Books is proud to present Clickers II: The Next Wave. J.F. Gonzalez has teamed up with best-selling novelist Brian Keene for a second assault — this time on a national scale. The Clickers are back, wreaking havoc on a United States already demoralized and defenseless thanks to a Category Five hurricane and a President who rules through religious zealotry. Now, as the death toll climbs into the thousands, two survivors from the original invasion find themselves teamed up with a marine biologist and a mob hitman; and on the run from the Clickers, the Dark Ones, and their own government. And as their enemies close in on all sides, only one thing is certain — if they fail, humanity loses.

From the Editors of Barnes and Noble:
Put on your galoshes and head for high ground! A flood of biblical proportions is coming in Brian Keene’s apocalyptic thriller, which pits the few remaining human survivors of a devastating 40-day rainstorm against monstrous adversaries nightmarish enough to give H. P. Lovecraft the creeps.

The Bible verse Job 14:19 — “. . . the things which grow out of the dust of the earth and destroyest the hope of mankind” — is a fitting theme for The Conqueror Worms. After most of the world’s landmass is covered by floodwaters, previously unseen subterranean creatures (enormous squid, giant worms, etc.) rise up to wreak havoc on civilization and feast on succulent human flesh. As the land is slowly taken back by ever-increasing water levels, the last remnants of humankind — like nicotine-addicted WWII veteran Teddy Garnett, Baltimore video store clerk Kevin Jensen, and crazed West Virginia redneck Earl Harper — must find a way to survive the mounting pitfalls: starvation, sickness, insanity, nomadic gangs of killers, and a strange mold (called the White Fuzz) that is steadily covering every living thing.

Incredibly fast paced, emotionally charged, and gruesomely entertaining — who doesn’t love giant, slime-covered worms trashing cities? — The Conqueror Worms can be faulted only for not fully exploring the cause of the 40-day rainstorm. Was it the greenhouse effect, some secret government weather project gone horribly wrong, black magic, divine retribution? Regardless, fans of postapocalyptic thrillers will enjoy this one — gloriously horrific!

From award-winning author Brian Keene comes a darkly suspenseful tale of crime and the common man — with a surprising jolt of the supernatural. . .

Tommy O’Brien once hoped to leave his run-down industrial hometown. But marriage and fatherhood have kept him running in place, working a job that doesn’t even pay the bills. And now he seems fated to stay for the rest of his life. Tommy’s just learned he’s going to die young — and soon. But he refuses to leave his family with less than nothing — especially now that he has nothing to lose.

Over a couple of beers with his best friends, John and Sherm, Tommy launches a bold scheme to provide for his family’s future. And though his plan will spin shockingly out of control, it will throw him together with a child whose touch can heal — and whose ultimate lesson is that there are far worse things than dying.

In the deserts of the Middle East, the Cradle of Life, where civilization began, there has always been conflict. And there has always been magic and mystery, danger and demons. The djinns exist. Whether in modern Babylon, or a Babylon forgotten by time, passions run strong. Babylon rises from the sand, unexpected, to both entice and devour. And the sands fall from Babylon. . . Stare with Gabriel as Babylon rises from the pages of myth and history. March through Iraq with Don Bloom and the 3rd Infantry — and into the remains of Eden. In these two original stories Brian Keene and John Urbancik explore The Rise and Fall of Babylon.

Two novellettes from these two new masters of dark fiction, presented in the old Ace Double-type format. . . the book has two covers, finish one tale, flip the chapbook over and read the other! Deena Warner has ingeniously created wraparound cover art that ties both stories together.

The New Fear (The Best of Hail Saten #3)

Author: Keene, Brian
Format: Trade Paperback
Type: Non-Fiction
Page Count: 328pp.
Pub. Date: July, 10 2007
Publisher: Delirium Books

In the previous volumes of Brian Keene’s critically-acclaimed non-fiction series, the author faced off against fellow writers, unscrupulous editors, corrupt politicians, scandalous C.E.O.s, organized religion, professional sports, the entertainment and publishing industries, crazed “fans,” egocentric celebrities, corporate America, and even God. But now, Keene must do battle with his greatest enemy. Himself. This third volume, which collects more of the best of Hail Saten, offers a fascinating look inside the mind of one of the horror genre’s brightest new talents-and a horrifying glimpse of what happens when that same mind declares war on itself. It also includes fan favorites such as the Adam Senft saga, publishing with beautiful nudes, the horrors of insta-broil, and for the first time anywhere, the original draft of Keene’s C.I.A. essay (which was unpublished at the request of the U.S. government). The only thing we have to fear is ourselves.

Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it. . .

Overnight, Brian Keene has been transformed from an undergound writer into “The Zombie Guy.” Now, he’s a successful mass-market novelist, a pop culture buzzword, the prince of the genre, and the toast of Tinseltown. Hollywood’s on line one, his editor’s on line two, and God is leaving voice mail.

Time to burn out . . . or burn it all down.

Collecting more of the best of Brian Keene’s popular Hail Saten columns, including many never-before-published essays, Running With The Devil is a cautionary tale of what happens when you achieve your goals. A funny, poignant and deeply personal memoir on the perils and pitfalls of fame, fans, fortune, and other f-words. Be it Hollywood or Washington D.C., the publishing industry or organized religion, crazed fans or unscrupulous C.E.O.s, Keene is more armed and dangerous than ever before.

Running With The Devil: When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed. . . .

“Woe to you oh earth and sea, for the Devil sends the Beast with wrath because he knows that time is short.”
But when the Beast couldn’t get the job done, the Devil sent his other son. Some call him Brian Keene. Others call him bastard. You call him . . . Saten.

Sympathy For The Devil is Brian keene unchained-raw, ranting and ready to battle the demons, be they corporate C.E.O.s, unscrupulous editors, crazed fans, egocentric celebrities — or even himself. Sympathy For The Devil collects the earliest of Brian Keene’s popular “Hail Saten” columns, from their origin in the Bram Stoker award-winning Jobs In Hell to his early Blog entries. It also features much of Keene’s early non-fiction from Hellnotes, Horrornet and Masters of Terror.

Sympathy For The Devil is a funny, poignant and deeply personal portrait of one of the hottest new authors in the business.

The Rising: Death In Four Colors

Format: Hardcover
Type: Graphic Novel and Non-Fiction
Page Count: ???pp.
Pub. Date: January 2007
Publisher: Delirium Books

Word of a major comic adaptation of Brian Keene’s The Rising rocked the genre — as did the unfortunate news of its sudden cancellation. Fans lamented that they’d never see the unfinished project—until now . . .

A combination of art book, script book, and history lesson, The Rising: Death In Four Colors includes Keene’s completed comic scripts for issues one through three, and Atkinson’s artwork, sketches, and layouts. It also includes an outline for the unfinished issues four through six, and an all-new, lengthy essay by Brian Keene, in which he frankly discusses the creation of the comic and details the factors that led to the unfinished project’s ultimate downfall.

Whether you’re a die-hard Brian Keene fan, a comic book collector, or someone who is interested in creating comics, The Rising: Death In Four Colors is a fascinating look at what could have been.

This miscellany is a must-have for any Keene collector!
