I’ve been looking at how my websites are doing and I’ve begun a series of changes that will, I think, improve the line as a whole. Gone are the days of copying the same content in two or three different blogs. Each website will have its own content with its own focus but will enjoy closer ties.
I expect that The Lair of the Undead Rat will become the companion site to …With Intent to Commit Horror.
Right off the bat, very little will change with …With Intent to Commit Horror until I roll out the new look. Even then, this will be the least changed, I think. I like how it is going and I want to add more content – more author lists, more series lists and more thematic book lists.
The Lair of the Undead Rat, my website associated with the library where I work will change in content. Here you’ll find book summaries, graphic novel summaries, movie summaries and summaries for other media such as audio book, e-Book, free-on-the-Internet stories and so on. The focus on The Lair will be the story and enticing you to read or watch it. Since my own reading is focused on horror, you’ll see that reflected in the selections. However, there will be a substantial amount of Ohio authors and genres other than horror.
I expect that The Lair of the Undead Rat will become the companion site to …With Intent to Commit Horror.
OhioWriters.net is closed. I’ll be cleaning it out this week. The concept was great but it didn’t work as a stand alone website. That is why, I’m rolling all of its content (except for a few blog posts) into The Lair of the Undead Rat. The Lair will take the Ohio author book lists and series lists and expand on them – although the books will link to the Clevnet card catalog and not a bookstore. The Lair will also begin a list of books set in Ohio.
Each website will have its own content with its own focus but will enjoy closer ties.
The Gamerat will expand focus from Dungeon and Dragons to a wide range of role-playing games and perhaps other games as well. I will continue the angle of advising libraries who are interested in purchasing games for their collection and helping new and long term gamers make the right purchase decisions for their buck. Once I get a set of Dungeons and Dragons Core Rulebooks, I’d like to design some free adventures.
The Sequential Rat needs to pick up the pace and get the book lists out there. Honestly there is a lot websites that can report news of the comic and graphic novel business better than I can but there is – to my knowledge – no website that focuses on book lists to get the correct order of stories. This is what The Sequential Rat will do best.
With OhioWriters.net closing, will I be making a new website? You bet your bippy. I am in the planning stages for a website that will start out as a blog with an affiliate store but next year will add a subscription class with limited enrollment. Keep your eyes peeled on The Lair of the Undead Rat and …With Intent to Commit Horror for more information.
However, I can’t make this a roaring success without your input. Tell me what you’d like to see. Leave a comment. Leave lots of comments. Let’s talk and build better websites to help you find the next book to read.
