Today I finish up my series of posts about Horror Mall by pointing out a few things of interest.
Out of Stock Items
On the top bar, below the banner, are a number of tools that can be helpful to the shopper. Besides the Search Box, Advance Search, Customer Support and FAQ, there is the Out of Stock Search.
Since a lot of the stock that the Horror Mall offers is limited edition books or books with a few hundred copy publishing run, you’ll find items that were there one day have disappeared the next. This is a reality of the small and independent presses. They can’t afford a large twenty or one hundred thousand copy run like the big presses can.
If a book is no longer available, try clicking on the Out of Stock Search and look it up that way. Often you have the option to sign up to be notified when an out-of-stock item becomes available again.
The Wish List
Horror Mall will also let you make a wish list in case there are books you want to remember to buy or to make a list of books to share with loved ones.
Last Christmas I e-mailed a copy of my Horror Mall wish list to my wife and she purchased a couple of items on it for me. It made for a wonderful holiday because I received a pair of books that I had wanted for some time.
Want to make holiday or birthday shopping easy for your loved one? e-mail them a copy of your Horror Mall wish list and see what horrors you unwrap.
The Layaway Program
I have never used the layaway program but the FAQ section explains the rules quite clearly. This may be something you want to set up if you don’t get any books this holiday season.
To get the rules for layaways, check out this portion of the FAQ.
Horror Mall’s Blogs and Newsletters
Horror Mall has two ways to keep in touch with you. You can check out their blog called Horrorgy or subscribe to their newsletter to get timely updates on new arrivals.
Horrorgy: Spotlight on the Horror Genre is horror Mall’s blog and it is authored by each of the store owners. Remember when I said the Mall was a collection of different book publisher store fronts? Well, each bookstore’s owner contributes to the blog.
On the blog you can subscribe to the Horror Mall newsletter and, right below, to the newsletters of the Horror Mall bookstores. Subscribe to one or to all of them. Then get up to the minute e-mails whenever new books are available.
I hope I’ve given you enough information that you’ll want to click on the banner above and go check Horror Mall out for youself. If you would prefer not to click on an affiliate link, you can click this link here or type: http://www.horror-mall.com/ into the address bar of your web browser.
