All this weekend I’ve been promising a post about the three horror book clubs to appear on Monday. I had the post almost complete as of Sunday evening. Monday afternoon I plugged in my flashdrive where I keep all of my website files and the folder is empty. A bunch of folders are empty.
I tried everything I could think of to retrieve the files and nothing worked. The the folder itself became an unknown file type. I lost at least two months of work for the website. A lot of files which I worked on but wasn’t ready to published — just disappeared. Some other projects are affected too including a big library project.
I am scrambling to get back on top of things but it may take a while.

The lesson for us all? always always back-up on a weekly if not daily basis — even if your flashdrive has served you faithfully for nearly three years.
