I&#039;m glad I was able to give you the information you needed. 

Joe Hill wasn&#039;t able to attend, however someone read his acceptance speech. In it he mentioned that the idea for &lt;i&gt;Heart-Shaped Box&lt;/i&gt; came to him at a time in his life when he was certain he would never be able to write a novel. In fact HSB was to be a novella. So he was surprised when it blossomed into a full length story. Now that his first novel is done, published and award winning, perhaps we&#039;ll see more of them soon.
