Vacation’s End

Today is the last day of my vacation.

I’ve been on vacation since January 3rd and the first few days were spent without Internet access. Considering that I wanted to over-haul . . . With Intent to Commit Horror on this break, the Internet problem were, to say the least, frustrating.

On the bright side, the blood from pounding my forehead on the computer desk is soaking in and giving it a nice cherry hardwood look. . . should I be worried?

Working on the Website

As you’ve noticed, I have added a colorful “skin” to the Thesis theme on my Wordpress blog/website. I like the look a lot. An added feature is that now I can remove the sidebar on the book list pages and it looks really freakin’ good. (Removing the sidebar before I got the skin didn’t look good at all.)

I’ve also started adding tags to my blog posts, now. I wanted to go back and add tags to all my previously published posts but the Internet problems nixed that idea. Maybe later.

I fixed up the About Me page.

The following book lists have been updated to reflect the new look of . . . With Intent to Commit Horror. They were first because I’d already completed some of the update process in May of last year. The rest of the book lists will require more work than these.

This is a good start but I want to renovate all my author and series book lists AND completely overhaul and improve my theme book lists.

Oh yeah, there’s also about two hundred or more horror authors who deserve to be added to this database but haven’t been yet. . . . I want to start getting them in.

Broken Links

I ran a plugin which found 198 broken links on . . . With Intent to Commit Horror. Outch!

So I’m also going to be fixing broken links or removing them over the next few weeks.

One way to handle that — in the short run — is to revamp the theme book list page to reflect only the book lists that are currently published. Then I’ll started adding the themes back as I finish their pages. This will be a massive job and require some patience.

After that I want to start awards book list pages. The IHG Award is no longer being given out but their winners and nominations represent a whole lot of good horror reading. The Bram Stoker award, Black Quill award and the Shirley Jackson awards are even more horror goodness. This will ba a lot more work but the sooner I get it done the happier I’ll be.
