Man – now that’s a comprehensive list! Thanks! Hey I’m participating in the Amy-driven Vampire Day thing also. I wrote an original vampire short story. Check it out if you like (sardonic grin)

I didn’t see the classic House of the Vampire on your list. What about Gothic Vampire as a genre? Seems like there should be plenty.
Hey Marvin,
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. I enjoyed the story, thanks.
If you’re interested in reading Mr. Wilson’s vampire story, you can find it on his blog.
Hello Vampire Fan,
Yup, House of the Vampire is missing because I didn’t know about it . . . until now. Thank you for the tip.
As for Gothic Vampires, I made a conscious decision not to include them. This list was originally for print so I had to limit my choices. I felt Gothic Vampires could be its own list and put it off for a later project.
Great list! I love both your Historical Picks… two more?
Fevre Dream – George RR Martin (vampires & steamboats on the mississippi river)
The Dragon Waiting – John Ford (vampires, renaissance politics, the medicis, etc… award-winner)
Hi Jared,
Fevre Dream! I can’t believe I forgot that book on my list. Talk about your whopping oversight.
The Dragon Waiting is new to me.
So, Jared, not only two excellent additions to the list but one book I need to go check out. Thank you.
