Viewing From Inside

by The Undead Rat on June 16, 2010

This is an odd bit of a post because it’s not exactly announcing or summarizing anything. It’s more like a heads up.

While I was researching John Bergin’s From Inside graphic novel, I stumbled upon the From Inside Movie website.

In 2008, John Bergin completed a two and a half year project that transformed From Inside into an animated comic book. And it is a hit. If you check out the front page of the website, you’ll see the prizes that the movie has won and the independent film events in where it was shown.

This short movie is very much a comic — not animated as cartoons are — but animated in small ways to move the story along. Once you view the trailer, you’ll see what I mean.

The trailer for From Inside is available from the movie’s website. You’ll need Quicktime to play it. Click here to see the trailer for From Inside. I found the scene where the train plows through a flood of blood littered with debris to be particularly chilling.

I also recommend you check out the From Inside Press book. You’ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it. Click here to read the From Inside press book. The press book contains powerful images from the movie, an interview with director John Bergin and credit listings for John, the actress and the composer.

The last post on the movie’s blog — dated December 2009 — John wrote that he was working on a deal to get the movie distributed.

Keep your eyes opened and your fingers crossed for this one, folks. And enjoy the trailer — or the graphic novel — while you wait.
